The barque, Amelia Thompson Ship - scanned from the 175-year reunion Programme. Descendants of the settlers who arrived on the Amelia Thompson 175 years ago on 3 September 1841, gathered in New Plymouth on Labour Weekend, 21 - 23 September 2016.
Reunion organisers - Anne Francis (left) and Bronwyn Jenkins (right) holding a model of the Amelia Thompson. Anne is descendent from the Hamblyn family and Bronwyn from the Allen family. Both families married into the Oliver family.
Mount Taranaki looking good on the Saturday morning. Captain Cook named it Mount Egmont in 1770, although was subsequently renamed in 1986 back to its original Maori name of Mount Taranaki.
Backdrop to the stage in the Holy Trinty Church Hall in Henui Street, New Plymouth, where the reunion celebrations were held.
Guest speakers included those from the Founders Society, New Zealand Society of Genealogists, and Puke Ariki (museum).

At the dinner, Brian of nzolivers.com (right) with his wife Carol and David Lloyd. Brian and David share the same great-grandfather, Samuel Oliver (b. 1833). Samuel was aged 7 when he came out on the Amelia Thompson with his parents James and Ruth Oliver.
