Jim and Ness Oliver Family
Portrait of James Alexander Oliver, Farmer, Postman and Mailman at Mataroa. Born Wanganui, drew ballot for 200 acre farm (bushland) at Mataroa in 1896. Mataroa is ten kilometres (6-miles) north of Taihape. Married Ness Shute in 1907. They lived there until circa 1919.
