Information from Muriel Leo’s (nee Oliver, 1917-1998) Family Tree.
Martha is descendant from nobility on her mother's side (Martha nee Allen). Martha's paternal grandfather was Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl Stanhope, descendant from a long line of families including Stanhope/de Ifferley/de Colleville/Crispin and Pitt.
Martha's x22 great-grandfather was William Crispin I, alias "Guillaume de Colleville", who was a companion of William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. I recommend reading Cynthia Glover’s (nee Coleman) excellent book, “The Allen Family” (first published in 2005), complete with much excellent information and photos.

- Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington, New Zealand
- The museum in Holdsworthy, Devon, England
