Turned 100 years of age in September 2010 according to Marlene Heise, grand-daughter of Lewis Sydney McKoy.
Date of death from Information from Marlene Heise. Martlene wrote on 12 june 2013, “Percy Albert McKoy passed peacefully away on 06 June 2013 in his 103 year”.
“Uncle Percy was farewelled at Ngamotu Beach New Plymouth yesterday a place he always went fishing off. It was a very fitting place. We sat in a big marque facing the sea, it was such a glorious sunny day and as we listened to his very informal service a big container ship left the harbour and gave two very loud and long "Toots" on the ship`s horn as if to say farewell”.
“Uncle Percy`s casket lay in his original clinker dinghy that he and Granddad made in 1948. Uncle’s Commer Van that he purchased in 1951 was hooked up to the dinghy”.
“On top of the casket was a sheaf of veggies as he gardened right up until the age of 99 years - an avid gardener. Also on the casket were some fish - snapper and a very large crayfish”.
“I can remember him always giving us a nice piece of snapper to take home”.
Full date of birth, place of death, cremated and ashes buried in parents plot in Te Henui Cemetery, from Marlene Heise in an email dated 17 September 2018. Marlene is the grand-daughter of Lewis Sydney McKoy b 1883.
