PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON
Recent callers at the Agency-General include ... Mr. and Mrs. Iredale. of Auckland...

Edith worked as single woman in London's Queen Street and is now assisting in the management of tea rooms in London's West-End as per mention found in Papers Past in November 2023:
Observer, 27 December 1902

I hear that Mrs J. Iredale - who, when Miss Churton, so successfully conducted Iredale's tea rooms in Queen-street, and made them quite a fashionable resort - is now assisting in the management of cottage tea-rooms in Piccadilly, which are well patronized by the fashionable world of London. The cottage tea-rooms were started by Miss Mellish, also of New Zealand - from Dunedin, I think. Miss Mellish displayed a great deal of originality in the fitting and equipment of her rooms, which are quaintly and tastefully arranged, and furnished to represent the old-world cottage. The smart circles of London were charmed with the quaint and dainty attractiveness of the "cottage," and success was assured. The venture proved so remunerative that a second tea-room on the pattern of the first was recently started in the West End, and it is there that Mrs Iredale is assisting in the management

PERSONAL NOTES FROM LONDON
Miss Melhuish, of Christchurch, and Mrs Iredale, who hails from Auckland, are just now very busy at their pretty little "Cottage" restaurant only a door or two out of Piccadilly Circus. It is indeed a good thing to see New Zealand ladies succeeding here so well just by dint of hard work, commonsense and no nonsense.

Edith’s sister, Mabel, moves to London in 1903 to join her, as originally found in Papers Past by Mike Warman, an independent researcher, and added here in November 2023:

Personal Paragraphs
The many friends of Miss Mabel Churton will be glad to hear that she is very much better after her voyage to the Old Country. She is going to join Mrs Iredale in the Cottage Tea Rooms.
