Eleanor gave birth to daughter, “Rose Teresa TOZER”, not long after her 17th birthday. Daughter Rose was born on 21 October 1883 and the father was noted as “Not Recorded” on Rose’s birth record:
1883/15955. Tozer, Rose Teresa. Mother: Eleanor. Father: NOT RECORDED

(Interestingly, daughter Rose kept her surname as “Tozer” under which she married).

Eleanor married David Higgie on 5 May 1886, when aged 19 years, 7 months.

Name of Eleanor’s daughter’s father being “Arthur Bernard O'Connor” from John O'Connor-Whyte in a document attached to an email dated 15 May 2023.
John's great-grandfather's brother, Arthur Bernard O'Connor, was the father of Rose Teresa Tozer 1883-1963. Rose's mother was this Eleanor Tozer who later went on to marry David Higgie, brother to Jessie Higgie who married Samuel Oliver 1833-1907.

In this document referred to above, John O'Connor-Whyte in March 2020 reached out sensitively in a post requesting about his Great Uncle Arthur Bernadotte O'Connor, saying, 'Eleanor Tozer went to work as a housemaid to the O'Connor Family and was sent home in disgrace at age 16 years as she was pregnant to their son Arthur B O'Connor (aged 22 yrs)".

A Sue Kinnigit replied saying that she had received information from a Maureen Cooper back in 2012 where Maureen had written, "Eleanor went to work as a housemaid for the O'Conner family and was sent home in disgrace at the age of 16 as she was pregnant to their son Arthur O'Conner. Eleanor's daughter Rose Theresa Tozer was born in 1883. When I was 4, my grandmother Rose, her daughter (my mother) and myself went to meet Arthur O'Conner but I have no recollection of it! In 1886 Eleanor married David Higgie and had another twelve children. David Higgie always treated his stepdaughter very well...... Rose Theresa Tozer went on to marry John Killalea (my grandparents [Maureen Cooper]) and they had seven children".
