Lloyds Evening :Post London - Mon 31 Oct 1763
JOHN DEVIS watchmaker, Brother to William DEVIS late of Fleet Street, decesfed [3 August 1763], who has for many years managed his business, is now entered into Business for himself in Glocefter Street near Bloomfoury, where he hopes his late Brother’s Cuftomers will favour him with their commands.

Yefterday afternoon as a man was plaiftering the fide of a window at Mr Devis’s watchmaker in the Strand, he fell down and was killed on the fpot.

This information is based on original research, including that of Wills, by Linda Burge and Julie Bourke. Linda is the great-great-granddaughter of Emma Frances Devis b. 1814.
