“Earl Jnr was killed in WW1” from Denise Moody in an email dated 20 July 2018. (Denise is the wife of Robin Moody. Robin’s father, Ernest Arthur Moody, was adopted. Ernest was born “James Campbell Lumsden ROBERTSON”, his biological mother being Gertrude Eleanor ROBERTSON b.1887. Gertrude later married Lionel Ernest Carrel b. 1884).

In an email dated 20 July 2018 from Denise Moody, “…we now know that Earl Robertson Jnr was in Whanganui with [sister] Gertrude when she had [baby] Ernie… I think… Gertrude was going to Whanganui to have Ernie and Earl went with her. One of them would have to work and it wouldn't have been Gertrude so I assume Earl would have got a job and kept them both”.
Brian of nzolivers notes that Earl’s sister’s baby Ernest (Ernie) was born on 9 Sep 1913. Therefore Earl would have been 18 years of age when they moved from Dunedin to Wanganui.
