Amy writes in the 4 October 2018 email that Leonard, “served as a Linesman in World War I with the New Zealand Expeditionary Forces, serving in Suez, Egypt before being discharged on medical grounds. Upon returning to their home in Wellington, he heard rumours that Grace had had an affair, and after confronting her about it, they divorced. With Grace he had one child, Walter, who was born in 1909 and died aged sixteen in 1925”.

Amy provides date of death as 25 Sep 1880.

In the 4 October 2018 emai, Amy writes, “I can definitely give you some information on further descendants from Leonard and Winifred, I’ve met all of their children, and one of them was my grandfather [John David Utting] :)”
