The death occurred at the Greytown hospital, on Friday morning last, of Mr Alexander Mitchell, eldest son of the late Mr William Mitchell (a pioneer settler of the Wairarapa) and a well-known resident of Greytown for many years. The deceased, who was born at Tuhitarata, Lower Valley, in 1860, was a first-rate stockman, and has resided in the Valley practically all his life. He was taken ill a short time ago and removed to the hospital. He leaves a widow and one daughter, who will have the sympathy of wide circle of friends. Two of deceased's brothers are still living: Mr Morris Mitchell, of Masterton, and Mr Wm. Mitchell, of Canterbury; also one sister (Mrs Desmond, of Napier).
