Obituary for Iva M. (Coe) Walker
Iva M. Walker, 89, president of the Hubert M. Walker & Sons Lumber co., died Thursday morning at her home, 205 E. Vine Street.
Mrs. Walker, who had been associated with the lumber business for 44 years, was born January 8, 1891, in Knox County to Wellington and Minerva Colwill Coe.
She was a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church and was granted a lifetime membership in the WSCS of the church. She was also a member of the Delphian Study Club.
Mrs. Walker is survived by a daughter, Virginia Bone, and a son, Gerald M. Walker, both of Mount Vernon; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert M., in 1962, and a son, Wendell J., in 1970.
Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Flowers Funeral Home. The funeral will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Gay Street United Methodist Church, the Rev. James Magaw and the Rev. James Sanko officiating. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
