James R. Goodman, 80, of Beech Street, Jefferson, OH, formerly of Marietta,
died Saturday at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Goodman later lived in Newport and in Marietta. He moved to Cleveland in
1948 and resided there until 1988, when he returned to Marietta. While in
Cleveland, he was employed as a window washer on the Terminal Tower and
other skyscrapers. He moved to Jefferson to make his home in 1991. He was
a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
He was born in St. Marys, a son of the late James Oliver and Bessie
Hendricks Goodman.
He is survived by two sons, James L. Goodman of Jefferson and David L.
Goodman of North Ridgeville, OH; four daughters, Loretta A. Chambers and
Debbie Novak, both of Cleveland, Jane Dercale of Westlake, OH, and Sharon
Coberly of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann D. Garmbach Goodman, in 1989, and
three brothers.
The funeral will be at 1pm Friday at the McClure-Schafer Funeral Home in
Marietta, OH. Burial will be in Newport Cemetery.
