Looking at the New Zealand Electoral Roll for 1928 and 1935, we see an entry for an Emma Ross with a second given name of “Mary”.
We know this Emma has a daughter named “Emma Mary Ross” but her daughter would of been married to William John Turner at the time.
Married in 1904, the daughter presumably took her husband’s surname of “Turner”. The daughter’s husband did not die until 1956.
