Place of birth and death, place of burial (Primitive Methodist, Row 7 Lot 8, Plot 2,Te Henui) from Joshua Keijsers’ Family Tree as at May 2020. Joshua writes, “Roy died after a pitchfork went into his chest when a haystack fell over. Unfortunately an ambulance was sent to the wrong place”.
Joshua is the x2 great grandson of Walter and Edith Minnie (nee Oliver) Chatterton through their daughter Beryl Minnie May Chatterton, and in turn her son Lindsay Jack Martin, and onwards.
Headstone transcription from Te Henui New Plymouth cemetery records, Row 8 - 1096, found in May 2020, “In loving memory of ROY OLIVER, eldest son of W & E. M. CHATTERTON. Died 31st January 1943. Aged 39 years. ‘Until we meet again’”.
