According to Jack’s daughter, Sarah Kirsten Oliver, “My Dad was adopted by Willie and Eva. We’ve never found out who Dad’s real parents were - only that he was adopted from a home in Hamilton, hence his middle name Hamilton. His birth certificate says his mother was born in London.
Graeme Kenyon passes on recollections of his father, Clive Kenyon, as at September 2013. (Clive's, grandfather was James George Kenyon b.1861 whose sister, Florence Kenyon, married James William Oliver, son of Charles Oliver Oliver b.1843):
“Jack became a Presbyterian minister, but is with us no longer”.

Cynthia quotes from the Presbyterian Archives, “he was brought up in Tauranga, in a farming family”. “After leaving school he began journalism, worked on several papers, rising to sub-editor, then worked in papers in Canada for a number of years before returning to Tauranga”. “Feeling the call to the Ministry, he went to Auckland University for 4 years…”. The Reverend Jack Oliver resigned from the church on 31 October 1985. He died 13 years later.
Email dated 10 July 2023 from Jack’s son, Peter Robert Oliver, advising incorrect year of death. “The day and month (10th October) are correct, but he actually died in 1987 (aged 57), not 1998 as your website says”.
Peter is the great-grandson of Charles Oliver 1843-1930 through Charles' son James William Oliver.
