Peter Robert Oliver himself emailed Brian of nzolivers on 10 July 2023 advising incorrect year of his father’s death.
Peter is the great-grandson of Charles Oliver 1843-1930 through Charles' son James William Oliver.
A google search in July 2023, found that in September 2021 Peter Oliver was General Manager of Forest Assets City Forests Ltd in Dunedin.

Oliver, Peter Robert On Wednesday 22nd January 2025 at home surrounded by love, aged 62. Beloved husband and best friend of Agnes. Very dearly loved father of Thomas and Lauren, father in law of Rebecca and Isaac, and Grandad of Lucy, Charlotte, Rupert and Hugo. A much loved son, brother, brother in law, uncle, and friend.
With grateful thanks to the Neurosurgery and Oncology teams at Dunedin Hospital, Dunedin North Medical Centre, and the Otago Community Hospice. Thanks also for the care given by family, friends, neighbours and Peter’s work family at City Forests.
A farewell for Peter will be held in Campbell and Sons Chapel, 95 Gordon Road Mosgiel at 2:30pm Monday 27th January followed by interment in the Roxburgh Cemetery on Tuesday.
Donations to Glioblastoma research and Otago Community Hospice would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Messages to 5 Grandview Crescent Opoho Dunedin 9010. ‘Death does not extinguish the light, it only puts out the lamp because the dawn has come.’
For those unable to attend the service for Peter in person, it will be streamed live from our website.
