In 2019, Anthony published a book titled, ’John and Talitha Carroll - From Jersey to Wanganui’. Anthony wrote this in an informative, detailed, and interesting way, describing the life of John and Talitha and their children. They immigrated to Wanganui New Zealand in 1874 from Jersey, Channel Islands. John Carroll was born in Tipperary, Ireland and wife Talitha was born in Somerset, England. Passed away peacefully on his 84th birthday, on July 14, 2022, at the Otago Community Hospice. Much loved husband of Chris, loved father of his three girls, Nicola and Chris, Anna and Teneti, Rachel and Dave (London), devoted grandfather of Neve, Pia, and Ava; James, Rewa, and Charlie; Naomi, Ash, and Freya. Loved brother of Brian, Robin, Terry and their families. A Memorial Service to celebrate Tony's life will be held in St John's Anglican Church, 373 Highgate, Dunedin, on Thursday, August 4, at 2.00pm. To join the service via livestream or to leave the family a message visit Tony's page at www.tributes.co.nz, or messages to 730 Highgate, Dunedin 9010.

This book, written by Anthony Carrell, was first published in September 2019. Sadly, Anthony passed away less than three years later.
Due to demand, the book became out of print. Brian Oliver of nzolivers, in September 2024, republished it, with the support of Anthony's wife, forwarding working material, research, some digital files, and original papers.
