Information from Jenny Smith (nee Bryce) whose late husband, John Monro Menzies, was the grandson of Telitha Carrel (b. 1885), sister of Maud Oliver (nee Carrel).
Emigrated to New Zealand with family, leaving Gravesend, London, England on 24 December 1874 on the "Edwin Fox", and arriving four months later in Wellington New Zealand 18 April 1875.
Charles’ cousin, Ambrose Woolford born 1841, emigrated to New Zealand on the same ship. Charles and Ambrose fathers were brothers. They had the same grandfather, William Woolford b. 19 April 1764.
