Date of birth from the F. E. Horneman family tree compiled by Alison Sleath and updated 28 April 2017. Alison is the great-granddaughter of Frederick Edward Horneman.
Brian’s (nzolivers.com) sister, Helen Oliver writes:
“John Buckland was a cartoonist, and his cartoons featured in either Dominion or Evening Post or both from time to time I think. His cartoons were mainly in the School Journals (a lot of them) I use to bring home and that's how I found out when Mum [Isabel Oliver nee McCaul] told me that was her cousin. Would have been in the 1950's as I was in Std 3 or 4 from memory. Very talented and clever man”.
Corrected second name of ‘
Fairburn’, year of marriage, from a document “Descendants of Charles Coombs (Dr.) Clark” received from Linda Burge in an email dated 4 June 2017. Linda’s great-grandmother’s (Frederica J Horneman) sister (Emma C Horneman), married Henry G Clark (b.1827).
Brian of
nzolivers.com confirms second name of ‘Fairburn’ from Electoral Roll records.
