HIGGIE, Herbert Gavin (Gavin):
Passed away on 24th July 2022, aged 92. Beloved husband of Barbara, loved father and father-in-law of Catherine & Graham, James & Jane, Jeremy and Jenny, (the late) Alexander, and (the late) Elizabeth; and loved Pa to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff and carers at St Johns Hill Healthcare.
In accordance with Gavin's wishes, a private farewell has been held.

To Barbara and family
Gavin was to much part of the Okoia valley.
To have farmed in the valley for one hundred years leaves a lasting impression. I remember the docking the lambs on the hill country and the fattening cattle on those beautiful flat paddocks, it was a Higgie tradition.
I remember his love of race horses, some grazing on his farm and his interest in the racing industry to eventually becoming the patron of the Wanganui jockey Club. I would like to offer my condolences to the Higgie family for a very special man. Good Bye Gavin it has been a honour to have known you. Cousin Bill
