Name, date and place of marriage, from a document “Descendants of Charles Coombs (Dr.) Clark” received from Linda Burge in an email dated 4 June 2017. Linda’s great-grandmother’s (Frederica J Horneman) sister (Emma C Horneman), married Henry G Clark (b.1827).

Hillman-Clark.-On 23rd October, 1890, at the Church of the Nativity, Blenheim, by the Rev. T. S. Grace, Harry Hillman, of Eastbourne, Sussex, England, to Florence, fourth, daughther of Henry Gostling Clark, of Blenheim.

MARRIAGE.- Yesterday afternoon there was quite a large gathering of ladies at the Church of the Nativity to witness the marriage of Mr H. Hillman of Renwick town to Miss Florence Clark, youngest daughter of Mr H. G. Clark, Commissioner of Crown Land for Marlborough. The Rev. T. S. Grace performed the ceremony; and Mr P. Clark, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. After the service the party drove to Mr Clark's residence, and later in the afternoon the newly married couple left for their home at Renwick, taking with them the best wishes of their numerous circle of friends for their future happiness and wellbeing.
