MARLBOROUGH EXPRESS 9 JUNE 1915
MARRIAGE.
HILLMAN—DODSON.—On June 2, 1915, at the bride's residence, by the Rev. W. Wollstein: Percy Montague Hillman, son of the late Mr Harry Hillman, to Geraldine 'Gladys Dodson, youngest daughter of Mr G. L. Dodson, of Spring Creek.
As at June 2017, Brian suspects Geraldine is likely to be descendant from
Joseph (b.1780) and
Isabella (nee Reid b.1788)
Dodson in this Tree. Brian did more research and found this to be true.
Year and country of birth and death, from research file07 in June 2017.
Brian subsequently realised Geraldine is the grandmother of Mary Simpson whom Brian started corresponding with in May 2017!
Brian checked the email received from Mary on 20 May 2017:
It's great to get your email and find that you are close by. I can see from your fan chart that we not only share Horneman great, great grandparent links but also Dodson links.
My grandmother on my mother's side was Geraldine Gladys Dodson. Her parents were Elizabeth and George Lewis Dodson. George Lewis was a son of George Dodson. I too have traced back to Isabella Reid and Joseph Dodson.
My Horneman links are through my grandfather on my mother's side. He was Percy Montague Hillman and his mother was Florence, Edith, Elvira Clark. She married Harry Hillman. Florence was a daughter of Emma Caroline and Henry Gostling Clark.
