Adolphus, at aged 7 on arrival, sailed from Gravesend 11 September 1841, arriving in Nelson on 16 February 1842 with his mother (Ann) and siblings Alfred aged 9 on arrival, Edgar aged 5 on arrival, on the ship “Lloyds” arriving on 15 February 1842. Adolphus’ younger sister Mary Ann died on board (no age). His father had travelled earlier on the ship “Will Watch” arriving in Nelson on 4 November 1841.

Brian of nzolivers.com notes that Adolphus’ younger brother, ‘Edgar Dodson’ b.1836, also married into the Tutbury family by marrying ‘Jane Tutbury’ b.1840, Jane being the younger sister of Sarah Tutbury!
