Hi I’m Dan Oliver, Co-founder and CEO of You Thrive.
As CEO I am genuinely excited about the influence that You Thrive will have on the lives of school children in New Zealand, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to social discourse on sensitive topics like childhood obesity, youth suicide and child mental health.
In 2015 I completed my greatest academic achievement of a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Auckland, which I did while running a business full time. My business background and training enables me to bring a fresh and innovative set of ideas to You Thrive – I think this is crucial in the world of education, where the digital revolution is really taking hold of the delivery model and shaking it up. Previous roles in IT engineering and IT management make this role doubly important and fulfilling to me.
I am a Kiwi through and through, growing up on a Waikato farm watching my Dad develop the family farm into a highly profitable operation. Now I reside in Auckland with my wife and 3 daughters, and watching them experience the challenges of growing up has elevated my passion to see You Thrive make a long lasting impact on NZ children.
