Mālō e lelei my name is Lesieli Oliver, I am a mother to three young girls and I am proud to be Tongan.
After giving birth to my third child in 2012 I was struggling to thrive mentally, physically and emotionally. It was a routine visit to the doctor where I was told that I was mildly obese that woke me up to the reality that I needed to make a change. Since that visit I have lost over 30kgs by finding the education and empowerment I needed to change my lifestyle habits and have now seen the ripple effect not just on my daily life but also on my health and wellbeing.
My own health journey and the present threats to the health & wellbeing of our New Zealand children is what has inspired me to create You Thrive. Through my own children I see the constant challenges children face on a daily basis. Challenges such as, self-confidence, mental health, nutrition and peer relationships. Challenges such as these not only affect the current health and wellbeing of our children but also their ability to thrive in life.
My education and background in Politics, business, education and health has motivated me to develop an innovative product that enables, excites and inspires children to better health and wellbeing.
I am passionate and excited about the positive impact, influence and long lasting change You Thrive will have in the lives of New Zealand children.
