“Mr Samuel Burge, of Shaftesbury, near Te Aroha, died suddenly on Monday morning. He went out into his paddocks as usual in the morning, and was found lying dead, probably having expired from heart disease, from which he had been suffering. Considerable sympathy is felt for the deceased's widow, who is left with a young family”.

“Samuel Burge, a well-known settler in the Waitoa district, died suddenly on Monday morning. He had gone out to his work at Shaftesbury in the morning as usual, but shortly after was found dead in one of tho paddocks. Deceased had been under treatment for heart disease, to which his death is attributed. He leaves a widow and young family to mourn their loss. The body will be interred at Morrinsville this afternoon”.
