Misc. Notes
Name and preferred name from Katia, wife of Tim Grant Oliver, in an email dated 14 January 2023 where she asked, “who is the last one from the Oliver family living in Boyton Mill? Francis Oliver’s [1822-1897] daughter Ann Yeo and her husband Thomas Yeo? Or their son Francis Oliver Yeo?”.
Tim Oliver is a x3 great grandson of James and Ruth Oliver, his grandfather being Ivor James Clark Oliver (1907-1989).

In response, Brian of nzolivers notes that page 4 of "Boyton Mill - a History”:
https://nzolivers.com/articlesdocs/BoytonMillHisto...ll_Pages/Image4.html
Where this paper reads that Francis [1822-1897] inherited the Mill after his mother died in 1859 [actually was 1860]. After Francis' death in 1897 the property was acquired by Thomas Yeo [with wife Ann Yeo - nee Oliver).
And, on page 8 of the PDF:
https://nzolivers.com/articlesdocs/Deborah Laing-Trengrove Report.pdf
This reads, "The mill remained in the ownership of the Oliver family until 1897, followed by Thomas and then Frank Yeo, then Jack Cole the last person listed as miller, who sold the mill in 1951 to a Mr Hill who ‘modernised the premises’”.

This Francis Yeo therefore inherits Boyton Mill:
This Frank [Francis] Yeo referred to above is taken to be the son of Thomas and Ann (nee Oliver) Yeo.
We are unsure whether Jack Cole mentioned is related.

Headstone Photo
Brian of nzolivers had been unable to match the following headstone in the grounds of the "Church of the Holy Name Boyton" when he visited Devon and Cornwall in April 2008. Photo now posted here.
In an email dated 23 February 2023 from Katia and Tim Oliver, they were thinking this may be the headstone of Francis Oliver YEO, a son of Ann (nee Oliver 1843-1913) and Thomas YEO.

In Loving Memory of
FRANCIS OLIVER
The Beloved Husband of
MARY ANN YEO
of Northcott Hamlet,
Who Died August 17th 1936.
Aged 66 Years.
We cannot Lord thy purpose see,
but all is well that is done by thee

From the above research carried out by Brian in March 2023, Brian can indeed confirm this photo of the headstone is for this Francis Oliver Yeo!

NOTE: However, date of death is written “17 August 1936”, the month given as August and not July as per previous Probate record.
