Departed Plymouth England 25 March 1841 with parents and brother for New Zealand aboard the ‘Amelia Thompson, the second settler ship to New Plymouth. Arrived on the 3 September 1841:

Rosemary is the granddaughter of Florence Minnie Menzies (nee Borthwick) and Edward Sutherland Menzies. Edward's brother, Ronald Monro Menzies, married Telitha Mary Carrel, the sister Brian of 'nzolivers' grandmother, Maud Carrel.
