Came over from Wanganui for cattle buying and land, met Nesta Shute in the tearooms at Mataroa, from images of notes written by Ivor James Clark Oliver and emailed by Katia, wife of Tim Grant Oliver, on 30 June 2020. Tim is the grandson of Ivor James Clark Oliver 1907-1989.

Born Wanganui, drew ballot for 200 acre farm (bushland) at Mataroa in 1896, to Haumoana in 1920, back farming with son Alex during depression years 1931-1932 and returned to Haumoana after 3rd February 1931 Napier Earthquake, bought and fattened stock, good with dogs, couldn’t sell Mataroa farm until 1932, died Haumoana at home from heart attack, buried Havelock North, from images of notes written by Ivor James Clark Oliver and emailed by Katia, wife of Tim Grant Oliver, on 1 February 2021. Tim is the grandson of Ivor James Clark Oliver 1907-1989.
