Name from Graeme Kenyon, whose great grandfather was James George Kenyon b.1861 whose second wife was Ada Oliver b.1864, daughter of Samuel Oliver b.1833.

Graeme writes, “The eldest, Joe Willah, was born in 1859 but died of scarlet fever as a child in 1864 during one of the many epidemics of contagious diseases in New Plymouth. (The same week his sister Ellen was born)”.

Full date of death from Graeme Kenyon in an email dated 30 July 2021. Graeme writes:
“Joe Willah Kenyon died on 3rd August 1864, one of a number of children who were victims of an outbreak of scarlet fever in New Plymouth in the winter of 1864”
“It must have been a rough time for his mother Ellen, who have birth to a daughter (Ellen) three days after the death of her son (Joe Willah)”.

Different day of death, place of burial, from Te Henui New Plymouth headstone records found in July 2023:
In loving remembrance of ELLEN wife of John KENYON who died at Frankley road New Plymouth February 6th 1891 Aged 51 years.
Also JOE WILLAH son of the above died August 2nd 1864 Aged 5 years
And JOHN KENYON who died 28th January 1924 Aged 91 years

Also ELLEN KENYON loved eldest daughter of the above died 2nd June 1947 Aged 82 years At rest Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Ps 116. 15.
