Our daughter Emily Augusta Bothilda Horneman was born at Panga Totara near Motueka Nelson New Zealand on Sunday the 10th of July 1859 25 mins past 3pm. She was Registered at Riwaka in the same month. She was christened St Thomas’s Motueka on Sunday 12 February 1860 by the Revd. J.C. Bagshaw
Her Godfather was:
Frederick E. Horneman Esquire later Captain in Her Majesty’s Artillery Corps afterwards Adjutant of Militia and Volunteers in Nelson N Zealand & Commanded No 5 & No 4 Company Nelson Volunteers, now Capt in New Zealand Militia Dec. 1865 & Major in June 1868

She is named Emily after her cousin her Godmother, Augusta after her father’s friend the Bavarian Envoy in London His Excellency Augustus Baronde Cetto and Bothilda after the late Lady Bothilda Horneman her father’s Grandmother (born at Sievard in Denmark 22.January 1754 and died at Kyritz 6 July 1792 travelling to Altona.)
