This birth record printout gives mother as Ellen Montezino so confirms the marriage earlier found in the BDM search above.

At the time of son Murdoch’s birth, the “previous issue” from the marriage is given as two males aged 6 and 1, and three females aged 4, 3, and 3.

Place of marriage as, “in the residence of Mrs Montizino, Port Ahuriri”.
(Although, interesting to note that the words in the residence of, “the Brides Parents” have been crossed out and “Mrs Montizino” put in its place and correction initialled. Therefore we do not know if it was the residence of wife Ellen’s mother or her brother’s wife)?
John’s age at time of marriage is 26 years, which also confirms year of birth as circa 1882.

Mother’s name as “Isabella Young” and maiden name as “Davidson”.

Looking again, in July 2020, at John (Murdo) YOUNG's birth date with two records being to parents with the same name - Brian of nzolivers researched further online and found this record:
