Updated with information from Richard Leigh Andrews. Richard is the great-grandson of Francis Oliver b.1840 through his daughter Alice Bertha Oliver:

John Willie Andrews was born in 1879 the third child of Matthew and Charlotte Andrews family. Like the rest of the family, he attended the Albert Road School. After leaving school he learned the carpentry trade probably from his father. John married Alice Bertha Oliver and there were five children to the marriage. At first they were farming near Wanganui, then worked for the Railway on the Main Trunk Line around the Waverley area. John and his wife then returned to farming in the Makirikiri Valley off the Wanganui River. The children went to the Upokongaro School on the Parapara Road. They then went into business and had a dairy shop in Wanganui. With a growing up family, John and his wife then went back to farming in South Taranaki, where his wife died in 1938.

John was a very keen race [horse] goer and attended most race meetings around the area wherever he was living. He died in 1962 at the age of 83 years. They are both buried in the Hawera cemetery.
